Step by Step by Ageeth Holster
Hi everyone, Ageeth here with a tutorial how I make a Christmas bauble.
A lot of Lavinians asked for a tutorial so here it is. It was fun making it and I hope you will have fun too. Any questions? Please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Step 1.
Cut a piece of Watercolour card into a 13 cm x 13 cm square.
Place the circle sticker of the Lavinia sticker stencils no. 5 in the centre of the card, slightly closer to the bottom edge.
Step 2.
First we spray water onto the card, then shake small sprinkles of dinkles powder onto the wet surface and watch the colours mix and run.
I used the Porcelain, Periwinkle, Blueberry and Pink Dinkles colours.
We remove excess water with a paper towel and dry the card with a heat tool.
Step 3.
Next we peel back the circle sticker stencil to reveal the masked white space beneath.
Place the negative part of the sticker stencil onto the card, aligning it with the white circle.
Step 4.
Spray more water onto the card and tap on some more speckles of Porclean and Periwinkle Dinkles powder. Remove the excess water and dry the card again.
Step 5.
Remove the stencil and draw a white line around the circle with a white Gioconda soft watercolour pencil.
Step 6.
Draw white, light orange and light blue lines in the inner circle with Gioconda pencils.
Step 7.
Take the LAV840 Wild Pine and mask the bottom half with a scrap of paper. Stamp with Versafine Clair Rain Forest into the middle of the circle.
Step 8.
Stamp LAV921 Annie & Edward in Versafine Clair Nocturne, either side of the tree.
Step 9.
Draw extra circular lines outside the big circle with Gioconda Soft pastel pencils. I used white, light blue, light orange and purple.
Step 10.
Emphasize the white stripes you previously placed in the circle a little more with Signo Uniball white gel pen.
Step 11.
Stamp the smaller wreath stamp from LAV568 Berry Wreath with Versafine Clair Shady Lane on the top of the bauble. Stamp some more berries from the same stamp set with Versafine Clair Avocado. Stamp Starpine LAV1017 and on the top with Shady Lane.
Step 12.
Colour the dress and suit of Annie & Edward with a red soft pastel and the three lights with a yellow Posca pen. Colour the berries with a light green Posca. For a twinkle in the tree, add some clear Wink of Stella. Draw a star on top of the tree with a white uni-ball gel pen.
Step 13.
For the finishing touches, draw a frame around the edges of the card with a gold Posca pen. Make a nice bow from some ribbon and glue this onto the bauble for a beautiful 3D element. Add some tiny dots with white Posca and Twinkle Stickles. You can also add some strokes of stickles inside the circle to create even more depth.
Mount the card to really show it off. I did this with white card and a dark blue backing mount.
