Step by Step by Lone Krieger
Hi everyone,
Welcome to my tutorial “To my Valentine” a nice soft Valentines card for that special someone in your life.
Step 1.
Take a piece of A5 watercolor cardstock and cut the long side down to 15.5 cm.
Step 2.
Take a piece of copy paper, fold it on the middle and draw half a heart shape (look at the picture for my measurements).
Step 3.
Cut along the line you have drawn with the paper still folded, then open up the cutout into a full heart shape.
Step 4.
Place the copy paper over your card with the cut-out heart window in the center. With a soft pencil, draw around the contour of the heart so you can just see it.
Step 5.
Stamp LAV898 Moss Flowers and LAV795 Rose Set (the big rose) with Versafine Clair Shady Lane in third generation.
Let ink dry, and cover with masking fluid.
Stamp a few of the small rose from the LAV795 Rose Set a bit behind some of the other flowers. Stamp in Versafine Clair Shady Lane third generation.
Let ink dry and cover with masking fluid.
Step 6.
Using the cut-out copy paper as a stencil, with a very light hand, brush with Elements Spun Candy from the edge towards the center, leaving the center white.
Softly erase the pencil line without removing the masking fluid.
Step 7.
Stamp some leafs from the LAV804 Vine Set in Versafine Clair Shady Lane, leafs from LAV695 Foliage Set 2 in Versafine Clair Portobello second generation, some flower branches from the LAV679 Foliage Set in Versafine Clair Hawtorne Rose second generation and finally some mini leaf branches from the LAV826 Flower Pots in Versafine Clair Avocado.
Gently remove all ink from top of the masking fluid and let ink dry.
Remove all masking fluid.
Step 8.
Now it is time to add some colour to the flowers. I used my Mondeluz pencils.
The four flowers from the LAV898 Moss Flower set:
Draw with no. 062 around the edges, and add a little no. 192 on the top of the petals. Smoot the colors out with your water pen, and remember to dab of the pen in between so the color fades out. ADD some green no. 042 to the middle and “drag” the green from the middle and out to the bottom of the petals. Let dry and add some little stamens by finely dotting with a yellow posca pen.
The Roses:
With Mondeluz pencil no. 192, draw up the green stamped image. With your water pen, gently drag in the color from the edges towards the middle, dab off once or twice so the rose becomes light. If needed, dry the rose and lightly draw up the line again so it stands out a bit.
Step 9.
Stamp with a sentiment of your own choice. Here I have used some of the words from LAV677 Heartfelt Verses.
Finish off with a little touch of Elements Spun Sugar and the Replenish stencil.
Optionally, to frame your artwork, try using a combination of black, pinck and white cards in a layered mount.
Thank you for watching, hope you enjoyed making this. ❤️
