Step by Step by Katarina Eliasson
Hello everyone!
Katarina here. I Hope you enjoy my tutorial called ”Man in the moon”.
Step 1.
Start with a white Multifarious card 16 cm x 19 cm. Stamp Barkley small (LAV1051) in Versafine Clair Nocturne. Dry with heating tool and mask with Masking Fluid. Always make sure the ink is dry before masking.
Step 2.
Stamp Teapot Cottage (LAV995) and the lid in Versafine Clair Nocturne as shown in the picture.
Step 3.
Now stamp the large flower in Wispens (LAV1065) using Versafine Clair Chianti as shown. Use white Posca to cover the lines we don’t want to be visible.
Step 4.
Stamp Vine Branch (LAV811) in Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves and mask it with Masking Fluid.
Step 5.
To create the moon, use circle masks. Use the smallest square mask with a round cutout. With the blending brush take a little of the Elements Russet Orange and go over the edge in a circular motion.
Now stamp the birds from Small Robins (LAV928) in Versafine Clair Arctic. Mask the birds with Masking Fluid.
Step 6.
To make the face of the moon use Thayer (LAV810). Mask off the area on the stamp that is not to be stamped with masking tape. Apply Versafine Clair Morning Mist and then remove the masking tape. Stamp on the moon as shown in the picture.
Step 7.
Time to create the sky. We work from the edges inwards with a blending brush. Start with Elements Violet Chalk at the far end and switch to Elements Della Blue towards the centre. Spray water in your hand and splash onto the paper.
Wait a little while until you see the water react with the ink. Use a heating tool to dry or press down with a paper towel.
Step 8.
To make the grass use a piece of torn paper and Elements Olive. Color the inner moon with Elements Sundance.
Step 9.
Stamp one of the ladders in Fairy Ladders (LAV731) by the tree, in Versafine Clair Nocturne. We use the same ink color to stamp the hives in Tree Hive Set LAV600. Now stamp Luna Lights (LAV594) in Versafine Clair Chianti.
Rub off all the Masking Fluid.
Step 10.
Time to put on some colour. I have used Mondeluz watercolor pencils in different shades of blue, pink, red, green and brown. I also used Posca pens in blue, red, yellow and white.
Step 11.
I decided to cut the card on both sides and make it a bit smaller. 13 cm width instead of 16 cm.
Use the torn paper again for masking when stamping Orchard Grass (LAV672) in Versafine Clair Shady Lane. Use yellow Pastel around the moon. To get the rays use a pastel eraser.
Stamp the words, Art from the heart (LAV676) in Versafine Clair Nocturne. Darken the edges with a blending brush and Elements Midnight Blue.
Step 12.
Mount the card on cardstock of your own choice.
The card is finally finished.
I do hope you’ve enjoyed this Picture tutorial and will have a go at making this card.
Happy crafting!
Big hugs from me to you!
