A Snowy Sunset by Judy Mathis

Step by Step

1. Hello everyone, Judy here. For this make I have used 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ multifarious card stock and it includes these supplies: Elements Ink Della Blue/Sundance/ Russet Orange/ & Paprika. Acetate Moon masks, Size 3 & 9 stencil brushes, Versafine Clair Nocturne & Twilight, Pan Pastel Titanium White, White Orbs Stencil, Stickles, silver, pink & red Uni-ball Signo, brown Zig Clean Colour brush pen, White Gelly Roll and Posca pen. White chalk pencil, fan brush and water and some stamps.
2. First, using the circle moon mask, apply Sundance using a large stencil brush. This is for the sun colour. Tape the stencil in place so it doesn’t shift.
3. Remove the circle mask and secure the circle to cover up the sun so it doesn’t transfer to the sky colour. Apply Elements Ink using the large stencil brush; start at the top with Della Blue and blend in the Sundance up to the centre of the card. Blend some Russet Orange into the Sundance using a size 9 stencil brush.
4. Place some torn copy paper across the centre of the card and use a size 3 stencil brush to apply Elements Paprika for the bottom of sunset. Sprinkle some water onto the design using a fan brush; blot, and dry using a heat tool.
5. Now create the trees in first- and second-generation stamping, using Versafine Clair Nocturne.
Now add some Versafine Clair Twilight with a size 3 stencil brush, over the torn copy paper to make the horizon base.
6. Use a clean piece of torn copy paper to create the snow and around the entire card with the Twilight ink.
7. Stamp the Spring Trees, the Gate & Fence Stamp and the hares from the small Wild Hares Set, using Versafine Clair Nocturne.
8. Add the Wild Berry stamp and trees from the Skeleton Tree Scene set with the same shade of ink. Apply snow on right side of the trees using white chalk pencil and Titanium White Pan Pastel.
9. Highlight the trees with a white gelly roll pen draw wispy twigs on the trees with permanent marker.
10. Apply the White Orbs stencil with Pan Pastel on a small sponge applicator. Finally, splatter with a Posca pen for random snow effect. Glitter the berries using the pink and red Posca Glitter Pens and then highlight with the white gelly roll pen. Place a few spots of white glitter using Stickles Star Dust.
11. Frame the finished picture by mounting card on orange card stock and then 110 lb. black card.
