Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Shop Manager for a hands-on customer facing role to oversee daily operations within our retail environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales performance. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with strong leadership and organisational skills to lead a team and optimise store performance. The Retail Shop Manager will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of customer service, merchandising, communication, and administrative efficiency, contributing to the overall success of the store. Some weekend, bank holiday and late-night opening is essential.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and supervise the retail team, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service and achievement of sales targets
• Organise and oversee daily shop operations, including stock management, merchandising, and visual presentation
• Develop and implement sales strategies to maximise revenue and optimise store performance
• Manage staff schedules and rotas, delegate tasks effectively, and monitor team performance through regular feedback and coaching
• Maintain high standards of phone etiquette, communication skills, and organisational efficiency within the team
• Conduct administrative duties such as stock control, sales reporting, and record keeping with accuracy and attention to detail
• Foster a welcoming environment for customers by ensuring friendly interaction and addressing queries promptly
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies at all times
• Support recruitment efforts by participating in interviews and on-boarding new staff members
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in retail management or supervisory roles within a retail setting
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
• Excellent communication skills, including fluency in multiple languages or bilingual capabilities are advantageous
• Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure
• Experience in sales management, merchandising, and administrative functions within retail environments
• Proficient in time management with a focus on achieving targets efficiently
• Previous experience in managing staff schedules, supervising teams, and handling customer interactions professionally
• Knowledge of retail management software or relevant administrative tools is desirable
• A proactive attitude with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
