Step by Step by Mona Hauge
Hi everyone,
Mona here with my latest Step By Step Tutorial called ‘Sewing Magic’, hope you like it.
Step 1.
Multifarious card White size A5.
We start with stamping our beautiful Freya LAV356 in Versafine Clair Pinecone. Â
Now we will Stamp with the brand new stamps, Elvens Jacket LAV1052 and Reels and Needle LAV1060, all stamped in Versafine Clair Morning Mist.Â
Cover all images in Liquid Masking Fluid.Â
Remember to let the Liquid Masking Fluid dry before continuing with stamping.Â
Step 2.
We want lots of flowers so we want all kinds of Poppies: take Wild Poppies LAV189 and Group Poppies LAV112, both stamped in Versafine Clair Shady Lane. Some sewing helpers are needed so we stamp the Magpies LAV1028 in Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves.Â
Cover all with Liquid Masking Fluid.Â
Step 3.
Now we add the gorgeous Wispens LAV1065 stamped in Versafine Clair Shady Lane.Â
Cover in Liquid Masking Fluid.Â
Step 4.
For our ground we will use a waterbrush and the Olive Elements Ink.Â
We can use the Olive Elements Ink Re-Inker or we can use the regular Elements Ink Olive Ink pad.
Press the sponge of the ink pad on to an acrylic plate or another smooth surface. Now we can pick up the colour from the acrylic plate with our Waterbrush and print with it. Start with just a little product and then build slowly, administering a little more at a time.Â
Let it dry before stamping the Forest Scene LAV524 in Versafine Clair Shady Lane.
In our top corner we will Stamp the Tree of Courage LAV657 in Versafine Clair Pinecone.Â
Remember to carefully wipe off the ink from the masked images.
Step 5.
Now we will stamp our Tree Scene LAV219 in Versafine Clair Shady Lane. To create the reflection of the trees in the water we will turn the Tree scene stamp up side down and do second generation stamping. Just make sure you place the stamp so that similar shapes are across from each other.
Put a little Elements Ink Graphite on your acrylic block and use a waterbrush to pick up the colour and create some far away hills.Â
Step 6.
Let’s place the Castle Mini LAV215 on our hill top, stamped in Versafine Clair Morning Mist in second and third generation stamping. Let’s also add some Flora Set LAV698 stamped in Versafine Clair Shady Lane. Do first, second and third generation stamping.
Now we apply some Elements Ink Blue Atoll for our sky and water. Do not worry about applying the colour very evenly, because we are going to use our waterbrush on it later.
Step 7.
Time to remove all the masking. Make sure the card is completely dry all the way through or else the paper might tear. We can use a Heat Tool to make sure it is 100% dry.
Now we can use our waterbrush to move the colour in the sky and the water to create more movement in our picture.
Step 8.
First we will stamp some leaves on our branches. Stamp the leaves from Foliage set 2 LAV695 in Versafine Clair Shady Lane. Do both first and second generation stamping.
Colour the branches, Freya and the Mannequin in several shades of brown and draw some highlights with the white pencil.
We will use a white Posca pen to outline the flowers that have blended a little too much into the surroundings.Â
The beautiful Elvens Jacket will be a soft blue colour and so one of the Reels must be the same colour of Blue. Colour some of the flowers Blue as well.
Step 9.
Now we colour the rest of all the flowers and the other Reels.
Step 10.
We want to add some magical light to our picture and for this we will use some PanPastel Hansa Yellow. Apply a small amount of product just so it gives our sky a magical glow. Let’s add a few more small flowers by using some Posca Pens. Just do five dots in a circle and add a different colour dot in the middle. A few dots on the ground as well.
Step 11.
Our picture just needs a few finishing touches. A couple of Dragonflies from the Fairy Bugs LAV471 stamped in Versafine Clair Rain Forest looks good. Add some highlights on everything and some Posca Pen splatters and our picture is completed.
