Today, we’re diving beneath the waves to create a magical underwater scene, featuring our beautiful mermaid Alana, stamped onto watercolour card. We’ll add some Mini Fish and Maine Kelp to build the perfect dreamy ocean setting.
To get a crisp image, we’ll do all our stamping first — onto dry watercolour card — and heat emboss the designs to lock them in. Then comes the fun part: using Dinkles powdered inks and water to create a flowing, colourful background full of movement.
We’ll use an air puffer to help blend and direct the inks, creating that lovely under-the-sea effect. This technique is not only fun but also ideal for batch card making and works brilliantly with many of the ocean-themed stamps in the Lavinia collection.
