Dive into something a little different today as Emma-Jo transforms a heart-shaped MDF plaque into a shimmering underwater scene using her trusty Dinkles inks.
The surface is first primed with Gesso to ensure great adhesion for both water- and oil-based media. Then, using diluted Dinkles in needle-tip bottles, Emma-Jo creates beautiful swirling effects that capture the movement of water. A touch of Mica Minerals added to the dilution gives just the right amount of glitz and glow.
To bring the ocean life to the surface, she stamps a Shoal of Fish using Versafine Clair in Blue Belle. Being a water-repellent ink, this allows the stamped images to stand out even if further Dinkles were added to the background. For an extra magical touch, she highlights the fish with Wow! Fab Foils, giving them a sparkling, scale-like finish.
