Step by Step by Janet Blaauw
Hi Lavinians 🧚♀️ Hope you enjoy today’s tutorial named “Bridge in Bloom”.

Step 1.
To begin, we stamp the LAV904 Shadow Bloom stamp twice with with Versafine Clair – Nocturne onto a sheet of A5 Multifarious White Card. Once the ink is set, cover the stamped flowers with masking paper.

Step 2.
Stamp the trees with LAV643 Tree stamp and LAV642 Tree Den and cover them with masking paper too.

Step 3.
Stamp LAV870 Druids Pass with Versafine Clair – Nocturne to create the bridge and cover it again with masking paper.

Step 4.
We stamp some background trees (LAV591 Red Pine) with Versafine Clair – Shady Lane, overlapping the sides of the bridge.

Step 5.
Build up some colour with Element inks and a Stencil Brush Series 9. We use Pixie Green and Green Parrot Elements Inks for the river banks and Della Blue for the sky.

Step 6.
Stamp some grasses with Dill Stamp LAV938 and little flowers using LAV610 Fairy Bell Set with Versafine Clair – Shady Lane.

Step 7.
Remove all of the masking paper.

Step 8.
Colour the clear areas of the card with Kuretake Clean Colour Real Brush Pens. We colour the flowers with pen number 213 Cherry Pink and number 212 Magenta Pink. For the bridge, use a 091 Light Gray or similar.
Stamp two of the LAV893 Bumblehums stamp with Versafine Clair – Nocturne and use a yellow Brush Pen to add colour to their bodies.
For the trees we use more Clean Colour Real Brush Pens: the Lime Green (409) then the Green Gray (403) and then with the Moss Green (402). To blend these colours together we work some more Lime Green over the top.
Add accents with a white GellyRoll pen to the top parts of the flower petals, the bridge and the vines around the trees. For the dots in the foreground, I first placed a few dots with a green Posca pen. When they were still wet, I dabbed them with my fingers next to each other to multiply the dots.

Step 10.
To finish the design, add some gentle colour with a grey watercolour pencil to give the bridge a reflection over the water.
To make you card stand out, try mounting it on black and white cardstock.
I hope you enjoyed following along with this tutorial and look forward to seeing your lovely Bridge in Bloom cards. 🧚♂️
