Step by Step by Ellie Evans
Hi everyone
Mona here with my new Step By Step tutorial called Home Sweet Home.
Hope you like it. 🧚♂️

Step 1.
Using some A5 white Multifarious White card. Let’s start with stamping the beautiful new Acorn Abode LAV981, Poppy Dwellings LAV988 and our old friend the Dragon Mini LAV213 all in Versafine Clair Morning Mist. Then we stamp the lovely Berry Branch LAV984, Acorn Nest LAV982 and Acorns LAV983 all in Versafine Clair Pinecone. Stamp the branch in both first- and second-generation stamping.

Step 2.
Apply some Elements Inks Dark Denim, Blue Atoll and Graphite to create the sky. For our water we will use Elements Inks Bermuda, Blue Atoll, Dark Denim and Graphite. Look at the picture for colour placement.

Step 3.
Now we will use a watercolour brush to create movement in our picture. Just trust the process and let it dry before you go in with more colour or more work with the watercolour brush. To create some hills under water we will use our Elements Ink Truffle and the watercolour brush.

Step 4.
We need more hills under water so we add some Elements Ink Olive using our watercolour brush. Some mountains in the far distance is also created with Elements Inks Truffle and Olive and our watercolour brush. Use more water to create a lighter colour for the far away mountains.

Step 5.
Stamp the Castle Mini LAV215 in the far distance in Versafine Clair Morning Mist. Do both first- and second-generation stamping. We need lots of greenery to make it cosy. Start with Silhouette Foliage LAV683 and Orchard Grass LAV 672 both in Versafine Clair Shady Lane.
Now we need to cover the nuts, berries and the flower buds in Liquid Masking Fluid.

Step 6.
Stamp the White Oak Leaf in Versafine Clair Shady Lane and some in Versafine Clair Twilight. Do both first- and second-generation stamping. We want the lovely Shoal of Fish LAV432 and some Mini dots LAV585 stamped in Versafine Clair Morning Mist. The Skeleton Tree Scene LAV530 is so perfect for our under-water scene, stamped in Versafine Clair Pinecone.
.

Step 7.
Let’s spray some water on our sky and let the magic happen. Stamp the Tree Scene in Versafine Clair Shady Lane along the water front and just stamp the water reflections with the stamp upside down in second generation stamping. Also, we want to add the fabulous Dill LAV938 in Versafine Clair Shady Lane. Now we want to rub off the Masking fluid but before we do so, we need to make sure our card is completely dry all the way through. If there is a tiniest bit of moisture, the card will rip when you rub off the masking. To be sure it is dry we can use our heat tool.

Step 8.
Now we will start to colour in. The Mondeluz Watercolour Pencils are my absolute favourite for this kind of colouring. They are so soft and they blend perfectly both dry and with water.
To create more life to our different objects we will use several shades/colours for each object. Our Acorns will be brown but if we use cooler colours on the cap and very warm colours on the nut part it will give us more depth and it will define the different parts more. Use a beige Posca Pen to colour the flower buds and let the paint dry. Let’s turn the light on in the different homes for this I use a Signo Uniball pen White. When the beige Posca has dried we can colour the buds with our Mondeluz watercolour pencils.

Step 9.
To make it look warm and cosy in our small homes we will use a tiny bit of Yellow Posca pen in the lower part of the windows. We are getting close to finishing and it is the few finishing touches that makes the picture come to life. Use a Signo Uniball Pen White to do highlights on most things and turn a few lights on in a few of the windows of the Castle as well.

Step 10.
Now we will draw white lines with our Signo Uniball Pen to create the illusion of water. Start with defining the water front by the mountains and work your way down. Look at the picture for placement of the lines. The last thing we do is splatter with White Posca Pen.
Thank you so very much for following my Step-By-Step Tutorial. I really hope you enjoyed it. If you have any questions please send me a message and I will answer as soon as I can.
Big hugs from Mona.
