Step by Step by Mona Hauge
Hello everyone, it’s Mona here with my latest Step by Step tutorial called ‘Surprise’, using stamps from the latest stamp collection ‘Kindred Creatures’.
Hope you like it.🧚
Step 1.
Take some Multifarious card White size A5.
Stamp the gorgeous Tree of Wisdom LAV609 on each side of the card. Stamp in Versafine Clair Pinecone.
Now we will Stamp the beautiful Logan LAV773 in Versafine Clair Pinecone. Make sure you Stamp him as far to the left as possible or else you will have too little space for the rest of everything.
And now we Stamp the Hobbits Door Accessories LAV967 also in Versafine Clair Pinecone.
Once done, cover everything in Liquid Masking Fluid.
Step 2.
And now we stamp our new magnificent friend Oscar LAV1029 in Versafine Clair Morning Mist. Once stamped, cover this in Liquid Masking fluid.
Step 3.
Wait until the Liquid Masking Fluid has dried before stamping. We need more of the Hobbits Door Accessories LAV967 to create the goal posts. We will stamp both the Fairies, Nia LAV767 and the beautiful Eira LAV1026, in Versafine Clair Pinecone.
Use a Micron pen to draw the little flags between the posts.
Step 4.
For our sky we will apply some Elements inks: Dark Denim, Blue Atoll and some Violet Chalk. Using a stencil brush, make the colour darker in the corners and fade out the colour towards the middle.
For our ground we use Elements Ink Olive. Don’t worry if it is uneven, we will use a watercolour brush to create texture.
Step 5.
Use a wet watercolour brush to move the colour, this gives our ground and sky a lot of texture. We will add a little more colour with the same brush to create more depth.
Step 6.
To add leaves to our trees, we stamp the Forest Leaves mini stamp LAV888 in Versafine Clair Shady Lane. Use a white coloured pencil to draw highlights on the leaves. We need some flowers and grass, so stamp Bluebells LAV002, Flora set LAV698 and some Dill LAV938, stamped in Versafine Clair Shady Lane. We can add some hills in the far background by using our watercolour brush with a tiny amount of Dark Denim.
Spray a little water on our sky to create even more texture.
To create the glowing light, we use Panpastel Hansa Yellow .
It is time to remove the Masking.
Be sure your card is 100% dry all the way through before you start rubbing. If there is any moisture in your card the paperback will tear, so be careful.
Step 7.
It’s time to colour in our fabulous stamps. I love to use the Mondeluz Watercolour pencils because they are so soft and vibrant in colour, and they blend perfectly even without water.
I always use several shades of the same colour when I’m colouring objects. The trees have seven different colours in them. We use black for shadows, dark brown, brown, reddish brown, ochre and white. Some colours are warm-toned and some are cool-toned; together they create a lot of depth and they give a lot of life to the scene.
The fabulous Oscar is coloured in grey, brown, grass green, moss green, lime green and white.
The flowers only get a subtle colouring of pink and purple, we don’t want them to steal the attention away from the big moment happening in our picture.
Step 8.
We need some eyewitnesses to this great event, the lucky ones are the Fairy Bugs LAV471 stamped in Versafine Clair Shady Lane.
For our final touches, we will draw highlights on everything and then give it a good Posca pen splatter.
We are now done with our picture, I hope you enjoyed following my Tutorial! If you have any questions just send me a message and I will answer as soon as I can.
Big hugs from Mona
