Welcome!

Today, Tracey revisits a favourite technique from a 2021 tutorial, using powdered inks to create a beautifully textured background with a soft, blended finish.

Starting with two shades of Brusho powder, she sprinkles the pigment across Multifarious Card, then activates the colour with a gentle mist of water. The result? A stunning, organic swirl of colour. While Tracey originally used Brusho’s Yellow Ochre and Prussian Blue, you can achieve a very similar effect using Lavinia’s Dinkles in Mustard Seed and Blue Dragon — or feel free to choose your own favourite shades!

To build the scene, she first stamped the Thistle Branch multiple times at varying intensities to create a layered look with subtle depth. One bold thistle takes centre stage, stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Opaque White Wow! Embossing Powder for striking contrast and texture.

Finishing touches include highlights from a Posca Pen and a delicate dusting of Mermaid Blue Eco Glitter to bring the whole design to life.
